Week 2-3 --San Jose

Hola amigos!
This past week was the first full week of classes for me. I have Spanish class everyday and a seminar class on Tuesday and Thursday. Its nice having only two classes right now..I feel that I have more time to spend with my family that way. The class work has been easy for me which has been a blessing. And the seminar classes have been interesting too. We have special speakers come in and talk about particular topics to our class. This week we had a theologian speak to us about the New Testament.
The only thing that I really had problems with this week was tiredness. I´ve been getting full nights of sleep but still getting tired throughout the day. I think my brain gets it from all of the switching from Spanish to English. Hopefully this week won´t be as tiring.
My family and I have been spending a lot of time together which has been wonderful. I love them so much and they are so patient and gracious with me. We´ve been having great conversations every night especially before I go to bed. Last night was the big futbol game against Mexico and we all watched it together. I made them salsa (becuase I had been craving it myself!) and they loved it. They had never had it before and I think that it will be a new staple in their list of family reciepes. They also love Michael Jackson and have been listening to his music videos for the past few days straight! That was one of the first questions they asked me if I liked his music...and Ive been listening to it ever since... lol
I´m still make progress with Spanish...but I have a long way to go. :0)
This next weekend my class will be traveling to the Limon provience which is on the Caribbean side of the country. I´m excited to go to the beach and learn about the cultural differences on the other side of CR.
Thanks all for your prayers and for reading my little blog. I hope all is well where ever you are...and that God is blessing you!
Abrazos,

Alyssa
